PLATEAU INDUSTRIAL CONCEPT
TOWN HOUSE

This former duplex, transformed into a single-family house, was completely redesigned by Indigo Construction to lighten, enlarge and optimize the residence while creating an industrial loft style.

Indigo Construction was able to reveal the potential of this century-old building located on the Plateau Mont-Royal thanks to a natural skylight and a suspended staircase that allows light to spread to all floors. The staircase is the masterpiece of the house: it is a self-supporting staircase with rack and pinion strings without any riser, which requires remarkable technical skills.

In addition, the cleaned and restored original hemlock ceilings and brick are further enhanced and maximize the industrial look.

The design of a mezzanine and its two adjoining cedar wood terraces, as well as the excavation of the basement, have allowed the creation of new living spaces, including a cellar that can hold more than 500 bottles.

Access to the basement is through the custom-made access hatch, concealed with a pendulum system; an ingenious design. The result is contemporary, authentic and industrial at the same time, bringing all the friendliness desired by the new owners.
